Seats · rounds · one winner

How it works

One product, a fixed number of seats, and a draw anyone can check. Here are the real numbers for a lot that opens today. Each lot keeps the rules it opened with, listed on its page under “All the rules”.

Seats

Each product has a fair price in diamonds, close to what it costs in a shop. The seats share that price, plus 30%.

Seat
fair price × 1.3 ÷ seats

Rounded up to the next 5 diamonds (to the next 1 for products under 300). The 30% on top pays for shipping and running the game. For a 1,299 phone in a 30-seat lot: 1,299 × 1.3 ÷ 30 = 56.3, so a seat is 60.

Rounds

When the last seat is taken, round 1 is set, by default 24 hours later. Each round after that is, by default, 24 hours apart. The lot page shows the exact times.

In a cut round about 30% of the players get through, always at least 2. Cuts stop once 5 or fewer are left, and those players meet in the final. The final spins once, and whoever it lands on is the winner.

The message that the lot is full tells you when round 1 starts, and the one that says you got through tells you when the next round does. Reminders land in your Lucky Market inbox 1 hour before every round, a day before when it is more than a day away, and 10 minutes before the final. You don't need to watch: results arrive once the wheel has played. Email and push reminders are coming soon.

Boosts

A boost makes your slice of the wheel bigger for one round. It's optional, and it never guarantees anything.

+0.5weight a unit
2units a round, reset each round
5 minbefore the spin, boosts close

A unit costs ⌈P × k × (1 + 0.5 × (u − 1))⌉, where P is the fair price, u is your unit number this round, and k grows as the rounds get smaller: 1.5%, then 3%, then 6% in the final. For a 1,299 product:

Weights are whole numbers in hundredths: a plain seat is 100, one unit makes it 150, 2 make it 200. Only you can see your boosts before the draw. Afterwards every slice is public, so anyone can check the wheel.

Relics can add perks: luck multiplies your seat's weight by up to ×1.10 in total, and cashback returns up to 10% of your seat when you're out.

Partner deals

Some lots come with an offer on the same product from a partner shop. If the lot has one and you're out, the lot page shows the code.

The discount depends on the partner. We may earn a small commission when you use it; your price is the same either way.

Checking a draw

You don't have to trust us. Every draw comes from seeds we lock in before the first seat is taken, and anyone can replay it.

  1. 1

We commit before the lot opens

We make one secret seed per round and chain them backwards, each one the SHA-256 hash of the next. Only the last link, the seed hash, is published when the lot opens.

    seed 3sha256 →seed 2sha256 →seed 1sha256 →seed hash · public
  2. 2

    Each spin is a hash

For spin s of round k, the roll is a number between 0 and the total weight of the players still on the wheel:

    roll = int(first 13 hex of sha256(seed_k + ":" + k + ":" + s)) mod total_weight

Slices are laid out in seat order. Add up the weights until the running total passes the roll: that slice is picked and leaves the wheel before the next spin. In a cut round the picks get through; in the final the single pick is the winner.

  3. 3

    We reveal, you check

Right after each draw we publish that round's seed. Its hash must match the link before it (round 1's must match the seed hash), and replaying the formula must give the same picks. The lot page does this in your browser with one click.

Diamonds

Diamonds are the play currency for seats and boosts. They stay inside Lucky Market: you can't cash them out, sell them or send them to someone else.

FAQ

What if a lot doesn't fill?
If a lot isn't full by its deadline (7 days after it opens, by default), it's cancelled and every seat is refunded in full, as the same kind of diamonds you paid with.
Do I have to watch the wheel live?
No. Rounds run on schedule whether you're there or not. We hold your result until the wheel has played, so nobody hears before they could have seen it.
Can I see other people's boosts?
Not before the draw: you only see your own. Once a round is drawn, every slice and weight is public on the lot page.
How do I know the draw isn't rigged?
The seeds are locked in before the lot opens and revealed after each round, so anyone can replay every spin. Here's how.
What happens when I win?
You get a notification and a claim form for your delivery address. We send the product new and sealed, and you can follow it from your account.
Can I turn diamonds back into money?
No. Diamonds are a closed-loop play currency: no cash-out, no transfers, no resale.
Who can play?
Anyone 18 or over. The official rules have the details.
